The origins of the Club date back to February 2008 as a result of a display staged at the 108th Oberon Show by a group of local car/truck/tractor/steam enthusiasts. The display was small but attracted the interest of patrons to the Show. In fact it was a major attraction. From that group of local enthusiasts getting together, the OH&CC was formed.
In 2009 the OH&CC organised and ran the inaugural Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair and it succeeded in attracting more than 200 entrants as well as an excellent visitor attendance. The street rally was the biggest ever held in Oberon, again attracting a large crowd of spectators and approximately 100 vehicles of all description.
From these humble beginnings the OH&CC continues to run the Highlands Steam and Vintage Fair and the OH&CC boasts a membership of over 60. Our membership represents a diverse range of interest and we welcome collectors of items of historical and cultural significance, be that related to transport, agriculture, industrial and domestic.
